Crisis & Support Contacts

We care about the wellbeing of every participant and family we support. If you or someone you know needs urgent help, the following services are available 24 hours a day.

Emergency Services

  • Emergency: Phone triple zero (000) Ask for police, fire or ambulance.
  • State Emergency Service: 132 500 (National) - Flood or storm assistance. If calling from a satellite phone or from international or interstate, dial +61 8 9395 9300 for a life-threatening emergency.

Alcohol and Drugs

  • Alcohol Anonymous Helpline: phone 1300 222 222
  • Alcohol and Drug Information Service: phone 1800 198 024
  • Family Drug Support Australia: phone 1300 368 186
  • Alcohol and Drug Support Line (WA): Metro 9442 5000 Country 1800 198 024 - 24 hour, 7 days a week telephone service (toll-free).

Crisis Counselling

  • Lifeline Australia: phone 13 11 14

The National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline

  • Call 1800 880 052 (toll-free) and speak with an experienced NDAH worker. Callers who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can contact the National Relay Service (NRS) by calling 133 677 then asking for 1800 880 052.
  • Send an email to hotline@workfocus.com - The hotline is open Monday through Friday, 9am to 7pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). It is not a crisis service.

Domestic Violence

  • Domestic Violence Crisis Line: phone 1800 800 098
  • 1800 RESPECT: phone 1800 737 732

Eating Disorders

  • The Butterfly Foundation National Helpline: ED HOPE, is a free, confidential service that provides information, counselling and treatment referral for people with eating disorders, and body image and related issues. Call 1800 33 4673, 8am-midnight AEST / 7 days a week.

Gambling

  • Gambling help online: phone 1800 060 757
  • Problem gambling: phone 1800 858 858

Health

  • Health Direct: phone 1800 022 222
  • Poisons Information Line: phone 13 11 26
  • Quit smoking: phone the Quitline on 13 78 48

Homelessness Services

  • Entrypoint Perth: 1800 124 684. Monday to Friday from 9am to 7pm, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
  • Crisis Care: 1800 199 008 If you are concerned about the wellbeing of a child, are escaping domestic violence and need help or are experiencing homelessness.

LGBTI

  • QLife Australia provides nationwide telephone and web-based services to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people of all ages. Call 1800 184 527, 3pm-12am (midnight) AEST / 7 days a week.

Men

  • Mensline Australia: phone 1300 789 978 Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • 1800 RESPECT: phone 1800 737 732

Mental Health

  • Mental Health Emergency Response Line (MHERL): (in the Perth metropolitan area). Your telephone service for people in the Perth metropolitan area experiencing a mental health crisis. Metro 1300 555 788 Peel 1800 676 822.
  • Mindspot: is a free telephone and online service for people with stress, worry, anxiety, low mood or depression. It provides online assessment and treatment for anxiety and depression. This is not an emergency or instant response service. Call 1800 61 44 34 AEST, 8am-8pm Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm (Sat).
  • PANDA (Perinatal Anxiety & Depression Australia): provides a national telephone information, counselling and referral service staffed by trained volunteers, professional counsellors and supervising staff. Many helpline counsellors have had their own experience of perinatal depression or anxiety. Call 1300 726 306, 9am-7:30pm AEST (Mon-Fri).
  • SANE Australia: provides support, training and education, enabling those with a mental illness to lead a better life. Call 1800 18 7263, 10am-10pm AEST (Mon-Fri).

Police Assistance

  • Police Assistance: phone 131 444 (National) Non emergency calls for police attendance.

Seniors

  • Council on the Ageing WA (COTA WA): is the Vulnerable Seniors Peak Body in Western Australia. Call COTA WA on (08) 9472 0104.
  • Advocare: assists older people by upholding their rights and provides free, confidential information and support to older people who are at risk of or experiencing elder abuse. Call the Elder Abuse Helpline on 1300 724 679.

Sexual Assault

  • 1800 RESPECT: phone 1800 737 732

StrokeLine

  • 1800 787 653: StrokeLine's health professionals provide information and advice on stroke prevention, treatment, and recovery. Call 9am-5pm AEST (Mon-Fri) if you think you or someone you know is having a stroke, or if you need immediate assistance.

Suicide Prevention

  • Beyond Blue: phone 1300 224 636
